A friend of my has the 4020 on her baby shower list, but I've found the 4520 one selling for cheaper.. and I assume that it is a better model than the 4020 one, with the higher model number. I can't really tell what the differences between the two are, can you help? thanks.
Hi Lulu, both models are very similar, the only features that available in IRT4020 is a protective plastic cap feature to cover the disposable lens caps. Some people find this is a very useful feature.

I suspect our kid sucked on the plastic cap because it stopped measuring and the light is not coming on
It is very rare for me to use these but there are times you really need them if you can't tell someone really is too hot!
