Single origin means that the coffee beans come from one specific growing region sometimes it produce in a single estate. Many coffee aficionados believe that single-origin coffees telling the true essence of a specific place. The most coveted beans are those from ideal growing regions, such as Hawaii Kona, Guatemala Antigua, Colombia Supremo and Sumatra Mandheling.

Interesting hub! I'll have to taste one of these someday--although I'm afraid if I do I'll never be able to go back to my Tim Hortons! The Hawaii Kona sounds especially good.

My mother-in-law's favorite was Kona coffee from Hawaii. My husband and I like many different types and mix them up depending upon our mood of the day. Some great coffees out there!

I would just like to mention that coffee from Panama has won the Specialty Coffee Association of America cupping contest in 2003 (they had 5 of the top 10), 2005, 2006, 2007 and came in 2nd in 2008 and 2009. This is a worldwide cupping event including all the coffees you mentioned above. After the 2003 event, they changed it to a grouping then in 2010 they changed again to best country origin which then led to a winner. The unofficial word was that the changes were made due to no one wanting to compete with Panama's coffee.
