Buy Citizen Eco Drive Watches: Citizen Skyhawk and Citizen Eco-Drive Perpetual Calendar Watches
By Ign Andy
A Citizen Eco Drive Watch is one of most convenience day watches. The watch is very sleek for office wear, also casual and rugged enough for traveling and outdoor activities. This watch has performed an amazing Eco-Drive technology; powered by light through a solar cell underneath the face. The solar cells are so efficient that allows Citizen to overcome any limitations of face design, offer relatively rich colors and many configurations. The charging process is a breeze under direct sunlight, the cell will also charge by indoor light as well. When fully charge the cell will powered up to 180 days, this timepiece will do everything and required no upkeep.
The watch is great option for first collection or even if you already own an “extreme” watch such as Omega Seamaster or Rolex Submariner, the Citizen Eco Drive is one of the best choices for everyday use that suited your keen personality, modern taste without being worry to wear it for though activities.
There is numerous Citizen Eco Drive series: Citizen Skyhawk, Citizen Nighthawk with luminous hand and surface, Citizen Eco Drive Perpetual – set one time for a life time, Citizen Aqualand a special watch for diving, snorkeling and all water activities and a few more series. Citizen Skyhawk Watches
The Citizen Skyhawk has been around for more than 15 years, which has given Citizen a long time to make improvement along the way. Specially designed for aviation, very recommended for pilot but also great for day to day activities. The principal distinguishing features of the Skyhawk are the Eco-Drive solar power mechanism that is common in the majority of Citizen Watches, and the atomic timekeeping (A T model).
The Skyhawk AT model is the Citizen Skyhawk flagship, pack with the most features such as digital chronograph which preferred than analog chronograph, this feature comes in handy for lots of functions including time traveled. High accuracy with atomic receiver, it is very convenience to be able to set it once and forget it forever, non-reflective mineral crystal for easy reading, a countdown timer, large luminous hands and backlight.
In terms of dimension, the Citizen Skyhawk is a big watch which should suit most men just fine, but many Skyhawk models have a contoured design that feels smaller on the wrist. Some models also come in titanium which reduces 30% of the weight and more durable materials although not as bright as stainless steel materials.
One drawback, the Skyhawk is the most expensive Citizen watches; the entry model is $300 (Citizen Blue Angel Skyhawk) and top line products are almost $645 (Citizen Skyhawk A-T Titanium Watch).

Citizen Eco Drive Perpetual Calendar Watch
The Citizen Eco Drive perpetual has fewer features compare to Skyhawk but this watch has retrograde perpetual calendar that knows the month, date and leap year status so the date calendar is always right. There is a little dial that tells you the day of the week, as well as 24 hour dial. Some model use leather band but mostly of the steel bracelet. It is heavy steel and is in my opinion comparable to designer and fancier watchers in terms of feel, comfort and heft.
Though it’s an average watch in term of price, Citizen Eco Drive perpetual design and build make this watch looks very expensive. It has quality of watch that you have expected from a watch in the $1,000 and above price range. I believe when it comes to buying decision, design and look is the most important factor or at least first impression and Citizen Eco-Drive Watches have this quality look.
There is a minus which bother most people who love this watch, it must manually set time and date by turning the crown. This is boring and long manual process, likely you only need to do this one time.
