Nespresso Automatic Espresso Machine and Cappuccino Maker Buying Guide
65Is Nespresso the Right Espresso Machine for You?
If you an experienced espresso maker or a barista who can make consistently good espresso from manual or automatic espresso machine then the Nespresso probably is not for you. This machine especially designed for people who don’t have time to learn how to grind, manually tempered coffee, adjusting the right temperature and right amount of water as well as don’t like to see their kitchen counter covered with coffee grounds.
Home espresso machine usually need ten minutes just to warm the machine up and a few minute to run a shot. This waiting time and all the rituals above make a regular home espresso are rarely use on week days, especially for busy people. And for most people straight espresso is difficult to make well and even more difficult to make consistently. Your espresso machine probably will only become a kitchen décor if you are not patient enough to learn.
Nespresso knows exactly all of these in-conveniences. All Nespresso home espresso machines are no brainer to run. All you need is to place the pod, place your mug and press a button. Exactly like Keurig single cup coffee maker; and since this machine use coffee pod and automatic running it gives consistent result. Far more convenience since it takes less than 2 minutes from cold machine to a cup of espresso.

Nespresso Thick Crema
Good Espresso Machine and Cappuccino Maker
Although it may vary in some features, all Nespresso machines powered by 19 bar pump system. 4 bar over most home espresso maker. These machines are beautiful in aesthetic, very solid and make a great espresso and cappuccino.
Visually you know a good espresso from crema. A good espresso should have thick, dark golden brown crema with very small air bubble. When you drop a pinched of sugar on top of it, the crema will hold for little time. Nespresso has deep brown color crema almost no white spot and very thick thanks to 19 bar pressure. It also has very rich and complex aroma. The espresso taste just like a taste of good espresso from your favorite coffee house, it lingers delightfully for several minutes after it has been consumed.
Best Buy Nespresso Machine
Basically there are 4 Nespresso home espresso machine products: Nespresso C100, Nespresso CitiZ, Le Cube and D290 Concept espresso and coffee maker; the price vary from $ 200 up to $399 for D290. All machines have similar core features: pump system and 19 bar pressure.
Nespresso CitiZ: The CitiZ has the best look retro-modern design; it takes only one square feet kitchen counter. There are two types of CitiZ with and without milk frother. Strangely both types have similar price.
The CitiZ does allow you to adjust the amount of water that runs through the brew head for both standard and lungo shots. The standard shot pour too much water for my taste. Most people love it combed with Aeroccino one of the best milk frother; couldn’t be easier and faster to make cappuccino or latte.
Nespresso D290 Concept Espresso and Coffeemaker: The D290 is unique; this machine brews coffee as well as espresso. It just like having Keurig D60 and Nespresso C100 in a single machine. But it also comes with extra cost; around $100 higher compare to the CitiZ.
Nespresso C100 Essenza: The C100 also bundle with Nespresso Aeroccino, is $50 less than Citiz, have similar features the only different is in design. If you want to spend $50 for automatic ejection capsule and more appealing look go for CitiZ, but the C100 in my opinion is Nespresso best buy.
Nespresso Le Cube: cube-shaped espresso machine designed for coffee-filled capsules. This machine also has all CitiZ essential features plus a warming plate to warm up the cup for better espresso experience.
All these conveniences have price, these are the downside, it’s a pod system and the pods only supply and sell by Nespresso, You can buy through their website and ships in 2 days. The good thing Nespresso offers more than 15 pod varieties even decaf, ristretto and arpeggio are the most recommended. One pod approximately 55 cents. Some people found this quite pricey, but if you consider this as replacement for spending $2/$3 each day in your local coffee shop, it will replace the cost of machine accusation in less than 6 months.
